Built in the 1830s, Highcliffe Castle is the vision of the rather extravagant Lord Stuart de Rothesay. Created with entertainment in mind, the Castle has been home to a number of royal and notable guests over the years. Having withstood two fires in the 1960s, Highcliffe Castle has risen like a phoenix to become the treasured building it is today.
Rising majestically from its cliff top location overlooking Christchurch Bay and the Isle of Wight, Highcliffe Castle is conveniently located close to the local towns of Christchurch and Bournemouth, whilst its setting ensures you are transported to a rare spot which is both peaceful and picturesque. It sits on a magnificent 14-acre parkland surrounded by landscaped gardens with stunning coastal views. A gentle footpath leads down to a glorious sandy beach, setting a magical backdrop to your special day.
Together with Highcliffe’s friendly and professional team, we will help you with create your magical day.

The grounds are mainly open lawn making them an ideal and flexible venue with plenty of room for guests to enjoy the scenery and children to run around and explore.
A wedding at Harry Warren is very much a bespoke experience. The grounds are dominated by the by the expansive sea view that changes from moment to moment and as dusk falls the lights of Bournemouth twinkle across the water. The beach steps lead directly down to the sandy beach and the lawn overlooks the beach, the cliffs and the bay. Spectacular. The ready access to the beach – just down the steps, through the gate and you are there – means that swimming is a real possibility.

Scaplen’s Court is a Grade I listed medieval building dating back to the 1300s.
The building we see today is mainly a courtyard inn built in the 1500s and 1600s. The inn was called The George, and graffiti made by Parliamentarian soldiers who were lodging here in the 1630s can be seen carved into one of the stone fireplaces.
Adjoining Scaplen’s Court is a delightful walled garden providing an oasis of colour and tranquillity. Originally designed by George Dillistone in 1930, it was restored by volunteers in 2000 as a herb and physic garden.
Scaplen’s Court is now a thriving school learning centre offering unique hands-on learning experiences. The character-filled period rooms and pretty walled garden are also available to hire exclusively, creating a fantastic setting for weddings, civil partnerships, corporate and private events.
Poole Museum is set in a wonderfully unique Victorian quayside warehouse with a variety of spaces available within both the Museum itself and at neighbouring Scaplen’s Court.
The Museum’s historic and characterful buildings are the perfect setting for a wide variety of events especially unique weddings to corporate drinks receptions, their interesting and varied spaces will ensure to create a memorable occasion.
